The main role of the Licensing Act 2003 Committee is to advise full council on policies concerning (amongst other things) the licensing of public houses, take-aways, gambling premises and sex establishments.
The committee also determines the terms of reference of the Licensing Act 2003 sub-committee and which matters should be determined by that Sub-Committee or which matters can be determined by officers.
The committee also has the responsibility for determining the procedures to be followed at sub-committee meetings.
