The role of the Overview Management Committee is to:
- coordinate the overview and scrutiny function;
- plan scrutiny reviews including a fixed timetable for completion;
- allocate scrutiny reviews to overview and scrutiny sub-committees;
- monitor progress of scrutiny reviews;
- approve mid year additions and amendments to overview and scrutiny work programmes;
- share experiences from overview and scrutiny sub-committees and review panels;
- provide feedback on review panel reports prior to their submission to the Cabinet/partner organisations;
- and consider draft reports from overview and scrutiny sub-committees/review panels prior to them being finalised to offer any practical advice on improvement before their consideration by the Cabinet.
