Where is Howden customer service centre relocating to?

Work is due to start on Monday 5 September to transform the Howden customer service centre into a new multi-service centre.

During the work, the council's existing customer service centre will relocate to the Howden library at 13 Market Place, Howden, DN14 7BJ.

The Howden customer service centre will close at the end of business on Friday 26 August at 4:30pm , to reopen at Howden library at 12:30pm on Monday 5 September.

The opening hours for the customer service centre during the temporary relocation will be:

 Monday  12.30pm to 3.30pm
 Tuesday  Closed
 Wednesday  10am to 1pm
 Thursday  12.30pm to 4.30pm
 Friday  Closed
 Saturday  Closed
 Sunday  Closed

Where are the customer service centres located?

The council has 14 customer service centres located conveniently throughout the East Riding of Yorkshire.

What are the customer service centres opening times?

All opening times for our customer service centres can be found on our Interactive customer service centre finder.

Please note that all centres offer payment facilities, however these will close approximately 30 minutes before the centre closing time.

Alternatively, we offer a variety of ways for you to make payments to the council, including 24-hour facilities.

What can I do at customer service centres?

All centres provide:

  • advice, information and access to all council services
  • help with application forms
  • payment facilities
  • information about a range of partner organisations.

Additionally, our integrated centres in Pocklington, Brough, Market Weighton, Hessle, Withernsea and Haltemprice also provide a complete library service, including free internet access. See the libraries pagefor further information on these services.

What facilities are available?

All centres have trained customer service advisers available to provide information help and assistance relating to all council services. 

All centres have payment facilities, private interview rooms available, and access to translation services on request.

Our integrated centres in Pocklington, Brough, Market Weighton, Hessle, Withernsea and Haltemprice also offer a complete library service.

Can I pay council bills in customer service centres?

Yes, you can pay all your council bills and invoices in any customer service centre.

You can also make payments 24-hours-a-day by clicking on the 'Do' tab at the top of the page and accessing the pay section of the website.
