Information about the Easington Parish Enhancement Fund, what the area of benefit is, types of activities the fund supports, restrictions to how funding can be used, who can apply for funds, who decides on how the fund is allocated, how to apply for funding and the timeframe for deciding allocating funds.
The fund was established in 1995 as part of a scheme involving Coastal Protection Works whereby £300,000 was deposited to be spent over 25 years on projects to enhance Easington Parish.
The area of benefit for the fund is Easington Parish only, including the settlements of Easington, Kilnsea, Out Newton and Spurn. Download the area of benefit of map from the table below.
Activities provided with financial support must be of social, economic or environmental benefit to Easington Parish and should seek to encourage development and innovation in the parish rather than maintaining existing services or facilities. The fund panel operate a rolling programme with bi-monthly meetings to decide on funding requests. The closing date for receipt of a funding request is the last day of the month preceding the fund panel meeting.
In 2016 these will be:
Closing Date: 30 June 2016 (Panel Date: 12 July 2016)
Closing Date: 31 August 2016 (Panel Date: 13 September 2016)
Closing Date: 31 October 2016 (Panel Date: 8 November 2016)
Applicants should note that no expenditure on a project that occurs before the Panel Date can be considered for funding.
The fund can be spent in the following ways;
The fund accepts requests from community groups, parish councils, schools and churches in the area of benefit.
There are no upper or lower limits on the amount of money that can be requested.
Generally the fund will only support 50% of project costs however in certain circumstances higher or lower limits may be applied.
Funding requests go through a two stage process whereby they are initially considered by the Easington Parish Enhancement Fund Wider Community Group who make a recommendation to the Easington Beach Monitoring Committee Sub-Group for a final decision.
Meetings take place bi-monthly.

Decisions on applications over £2,500 are made by the Easington Beach Monitoring Committee Sub Group.
This group will meet on the following dates;
Applicants are informed of decisions by telephone or email the following day and this is then followed up in writing.
Meetings take place on a quarterly basis.
Applicants are informed of decisions by telephone or email on the day after each meeting and this is then followed formally in writing.
