Why the website has been redesigned, how to find information and report problems.
Following the success of the public beta site (a test site) over a three month period, the new look council website was launched on March 20, 2017. During every stage of the redesign, residents and staff were invited to trial the website, with their feedback playing a key role in shaping the website design.
The site offers residents, visitors and business owners improved navigation and page structures inside a design that’s visually appealing and easier to use to meet today’s growing digital expectations.
Advancements in technology and 24/7 lifestyles in the past decade means more and more customers can - and prefer - to choose digital transactions.
This presents a huge opportunity to the council, as we look to make significant cost savings across the organisation through automation and customer self-service.
The redesigned website builds on the successes of our current website, whilst adding improved tools and functionality that will enable customers to more easily navigate and find information and online services across their smartphones, tablets and PCs.
Following the launch, website usage data and customer feedback will be used to create a constantly evolving website. Further improvements and new features will be added every month, making access easier for all and encouraging customers to choose the website as their first point of contact for council services.
There are four main ways to find what're looking for:
This is the fastest and easiest way of finding what you're looking for. Simply begin to type what you're looking for, for example, 'bin' and a list of suggestions will appear. If none of these suit, select 'View more search results' or enter a new keyword.
Located on the left hand-side of every page, the green menu allows you to browse all the information on our site.
Located just above the web page text (and below the search box), the blue breadcrumb trail is a list of links which shows you your location within the website structure. The links are active allowing you to explore the page's associated content.
Located in the main menu on the left-hand side, the A-Z allows you to search for information or service by letter.
If you can't find what you're looking for, please report a website issue and we will get in touch with you. Alternatively, you can call the council on (01482) 393939.
If you have found an issue with this website, such as incorrect content or a part of the page is broken, or want to provide general feedback, then report a website issue.
