Explains what the East Riding 2020 Partnership and the partnership board is, how the partnership is structured and what the East Riding Community Plan is.
The East Riding 2020 Partnership is a partnership that brings together organisations from across the public sector in the East Riding. The key objective of the 2020 Partnership is to improve the quality of life in that area and it will work closely with other sectors, including the voluntary and community sector.
Because the 2020 Partnership is locally based, it is well placed to look strategically at the needs and issues facing the East Riding in order to inform decision-making and allocation of resources.
Established in 2015, the East Riding 2020 Partnership will build on strategic direction previously delivered by the East Riding Local Strategic Partnership (LSP). Its key function is to develop and deliver a plan for the ongoing development of the area. Through this jointly developed Community Plan, Partners work together for the benefit of all East Riding residents and visitors, both now and in the future.
The 2020 Partnership provides a strong platform for joint working to stimulate innovation; it is also a vehicle for ensuring that public services are delivered in a strategic, coordinated, cost effective and timely way.
Reduced levels of funding are challenging all partners to reconsider how their services are delivered. Planning for the future is essential, as is ensuring that we meet the demands of a changing economy and the changing social circumstances of many individuals and families.
In April 2016, the 2020 Board agreed a new, five year plan which is focused around the partnership’s Shared Ambition for the area:
Underpinning the shared ambition is the desire to connect with the needs of all local people and respond effectively, making the best use of our resources, reducing waste and duplication, whilst ensuring that the 2020 Partnership is able to improve the overall quality of life in the area.

Delivery of the Community Plan is overseen by the East Riding 2020 Board which manages, as appropriate, its supporting actions and reference groups.
Centred on the East Riding 2020 Board, the broader East Riding 2020 Partnership is comprised of the East Riding Children’s Trust Board, the East Riding Community Safety Partnership, the East Riding Strategic Intelligence Board and time-limited Task and Finish Groups (set up as and when a need arises for a particular piece of work or issue).
Additionally, the East Riding 2020 Partnership also maintains links with the following key boards and partnerships:
