All 10 sites are open 7 days a week from 10am-6pm. The sites are open all bank holidays except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day. Please note the sites will close at 4pm on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve.

If you have a van, single cab pick-up or a trailer that is longer than 6ft, wider than 4ft or twin axled, you must have permits to dispose of household waste at the sites apply for a permit. Read more about permits.
The ban limiting the use of vans and large trailers is in place at all 10 sites and was introduced to stop people illegally disposing of commercial waste at the sites. Read more about the disposal of business wasteand fly-tipping.

Yes, for taking your own household waste only.
If you need to visit the site with a borrowed or hired vehicle, please see the attendant when arriving at the site. You will be asked to complete a waste declaration form stating that the waste is your own household waste. You can then use the site on a single use basis without letting them know in advance.
Please note that if the vehicle is not clearly marked as a hire vehicle the site attendant will ask to see proof that the vehicle is hired. Please ensure you have this documentation with you when you visit the site.
There is a maximum weight limit at all of the sites of 3.5 tonnes. Site attendant's will turn away any vehicle or vehicle and trailer combination that they believe exceeds this weight. The attendants decisions are final.
Declaration forms are monitored closely; multiple visits to our sites by the same van or resident may be investigated further to ensure that commercial waste is not being disposed of illegally.

Chemicals
You can take chemicals from your household to any of the ten tips in the East Riding (finder map). Please hand them to the site attendant who will ask you to sign a form, stating what the chemical is, the quantity of it and your name and address.
The maximum amount which can be accepted at the sites is five litres and this should be in a container that does not exceed five litres in size. If possible, chemicals should be brought in their original container, but will be accepted in suitable sealed containers clearly marked with the chemical that it holds.
If you have more than five litres of chemicals, you should contact a hazardous waste disposal company, details of which can be found in the phone book or online.

Asbestos
We do not collect asbestos, however asbestos banks are available at Carnaby, Preston, Airmyn and Humberfield (Hessle) sites which you can use to dispose of asbestos from your own home.
A maximum of 25 standard sized sheets may be taken and you are advised not to break up this material. All asbestos must be double bagged/wrapped before it is brought to a site. Site attendants will turn away any asbestos that is not double bagged/wrapped.
When you arrive with asbestos to dispose of, please speak to an attendant who will unlock the asbestos skip.

Cooking oil
Small quantities of cooking oil should be put in a sealed container, such as a jam jar, and put in the green refuse bin.
You can take cooking oil from your household to Humberfield (Hessle) site.

Engine oil
You can take engine oil to any of the ten tips in the East Riding (finder map), where you can also dispose of used oil filters.

We do not accept gas cylinders at any of the 10 sites. Please contact the producer details on the cylinder itself, ask if the shop you bought them from also does returns or look for local dealerships in the yellow pages.
