The Allocations Document is an important part of the East Riding Local Plan. When adopted, it will allocate pieces of land for specific uses, including for housing, employment, retail, open space and transport.

The Allocations Document is an important part of the East Riding Local Plan. It allocates pieces of land for specific uses, including for housing, employment, retail, open space and transport. Together with the Strategy Document, it forms part of the Development Plan for the East Riding. This means it will be the starting point for making decisions on planning applications on the sites identified.

The Allocations Document was adopted by the Council at its meeting on 27 July 2016.

How was the Allocations Document prepared?

The Allocations Document was prepared following various stages of consultation:

  • A Potential Sitesconsultation was complete in 2010
  • A Draft Allocations Documentwas subject to consultation between February and April 2013
  • A series of Proposed Major Changeswere put forward for consideration in September 2013
  • The council prepared a Proposed Submissionversion of the document in January 2014 
  • The document was then submitted to the Government, together with all the responses received and a number of proposed changes (modifications) Submission – April 2014
  • The Examination in Publicstarted in April 2014 and hearing sessions took place in November 2014
  • Further modifications were put forward in March 2015, followed by additional hearing sessions in July 2015
  • The appointed inspector published his report, with modifications, in June 2016
  • Adoption – 27 July 2016

The council received the Inspector's Report on the Allocations Document on 13 June 2016. The report and appendix are set out below. The examination of the Allocations Document concluded on receipt of the report.
