'Major' planning applications are those which could have a significant impact on the area in which they are located. These applications include large scale residential, retail, leisure, tourism, industrial, commercial developments, mixed use, renewable energy schemes, civil infrastructure such as flood defences, hazardous substance storage proposals and minerals and waste development.
