How much car parks charge and why the council charges for car parking including disabled parking.
For the latest car park locations and charges please view the documents in the table below. You can also read about when parking charges apply including Sunday charging at the bottom of this page.
The council charges for car parks due to the high maintenance costs involved, including business rates, which have to be recovered from the user.
Some other councils also charge for disabled parking, it is for each council to decide its own policy. This council considers that disability is not necessarily related to the ability to pay and the issue is one of convenient access to nearby facilities, for which dedicated bays are provided.
The charging period is 8am - 6pm Monday to Saturday including Bank Holidays.
Please note: free parking is available at all times in Goole and Driffield.
Charges apply in Bridlington and Hornsea on Sundays.
Parking is free in Beverley on Sundays.
There are no charges or time restrictions when parking motorcycles in marked out motorcycle bays in both the free and pay and display council car parks.
If parked in a normal parking space (not designated for motorcycles) then normal time restrictions and charges would apply as per a normal vehicle.
