Parking fines

How and where can I pay a parking fine?

Important notice: There are two types of parking fine which have to be dealt with in different ways - 'penalty charges' and 'parking charges'. If your reference number begins with YE it means you have been issued with a Penalty Charge Notice and you will need to refer to the civil parking enforcement page. If your reference number begins with ER it means you have been issued with a Parking Charge Notice and you should refer to the information below:

Online

Unfortunately we don't currently offer an online payments facility for Penalty Charge Notices. Please select one of the payment methods listed below.

Phone

Please call (01482) 393939 and have a credit or debit card ready.

Cheque

Cheques should be made payable to 'East Riding of Yorkshire Council', and posted to:

Car Park Office
East Riding Of Yorkshire Council
Annie Reed Road

HU17 0LF

Please add your address, PCN number (beginning ER) and vehicle registration number on the reverse of the cheque.

In person

The option to pay by cash, in person, is available at any customer service centre (finder map); please do not post cash and note that there is no facility for personal callers at any East Riding of Yorkshire Council Office.

Paying by credit card

If you wish to pay by credit card, over the phone on (01482) 395376 or at a customer service centre (finder map) then a 1.3% service charge will apply.

How do I appeal against a Parking Charge Notice (PCN)?

All appeals in relation to Parking Charge Notices (PCN) must be received by post:

Car Park Support Office
East Riding of Yorkshire Council
Beverley
East Riding of Yorkshire
HU17 0LF

Please note: It is important to state your vehicle registration number or PCN number (beginning ER) and clearly outline your reasons why you feel your appeal should be upheld, including any evidence that you feel substantiates your appeal (such as a pay and display ticket).

Please note the council only deals with PCNs issued in our car parks (finder map). PCN tickets issued by private companies and the Police must be dealt with via the relevant organisations.
