Enrolment is generally not available once the course has started so please enrol before the start of term to avoid disappointment. Courses with low numbers prior to the start date may be cancelled, and all those who have enrolled will be informed of the cancellation, and offered advice on how to enrol on an alternative course, or refunded if applicable.

At the time of enrolment, or before the start of the course, all learners will need to produce proof of their identity to an adult education centre. Acceptable proof includes: driving licence, National Insurance card, passport, credit/debit card or photo ID card.
If you are entitled to a concession because you are in receipt of active benefits, you must produce proof of your benefit, ensuring the dates on the document cover the duration of the course you’re enrolling on (original documents only).
If you are entitled to a concession because of your age, please provide proof of your date of birth. You can do this with, for example, a driving licence, birth certificate or passport.

Courses may be closed or combined if learner numbers fall below the point at which the course is financially viable. Learner numbers need to remain viable throughout the course and we reserve the right to close or combine classes in subsequent terms (if applicable). Learners will be contacted if the course is to be cancelled prior to the first session and full fees refunded. If the course closes after the first session you will be signposted to any suitable alternative courses. If an alternative course is not available, you will be offered a full refund. Please assume that a course will run unless you are contacted.
Once the course has started, refunds will only be given if the course is cancelled by the service. If you enrol on a course and withdraw before it starts, without informing the adult education centre, you will not be entitled to a refund.

Any course with course fees over £50 (excluding exam fees) can be paid in two instalments. Both instalments must be paid before the end of the first term. Please note that this is not available if you book online. If you need to pay in more than two instalments due to your financial circumstances, please speak to a member of staff in the adult education centre running your course to see if alternative arrangements can be made.

The examination dates and times are co-ordinated by individual examination boards and not by East Riding of Yorkshire Council Adult Education Service. This may result in your exam being held on a different day and time from your normal class. You may therefore be expected to attend during the day, even if your class normally takes place on an evening.
