What can I learn?

Whether you want to get started using a computer, laptop or tablet, or gain expertise in Microsoft Office software, we offer a series of courses designed to help you in everyday life and work. Courses run at different times during the year and some of the courses currently on offer are listed below.

Getting started with your tablet

Bring your own device along to our course so you can set it up in the classroom and practise with the help of the tutor. You will explore the functions of your tablet including searching the internet, using skype, downloading apps, emailing, using social media and working safely on line, how to connect to wifi and taking and manipulating pictures. 

Developing tablet skills

Learn how to email safely, search for information on the internet and where to change some of the settings on your tablet. You can either bring your own tablet, or we can provide one for you to use in the session. If you are new to emailing and the internet, or are self taught with basic knowledge, then this would be the perfect short course for you. 

Moving on with your tablet

Move on with your tablet and learn how to use your tablet to take photographs, record videos, send photographs via email, complete forms on line and how to stay safer on line.

Extending tablet skills

On this course your will learn how to download and install apps, explore the most popular social media platforms, connect to family and friends using Skype or Facetime and go shopping on line.

Computer and digital skills

Getting started with computer and digital skills

Joining this course gives you the opportunity to develop your skills in word processing, using the internet and email. Whether you want to get a job, gain confidence or get on line, improving your computer and digital skills could help you to do it.

Developing computer and digital skills

Develop your skills in word processing and to start using spreadsheets. Enrol today to develop your computer and digital skills for life and work.

Moving on with computer and digital skills

Move on and explore presentation software for the first time and continue to develop your spreadsheet skills. 

Extending computer and digital skills

On this course learn about the most appropriate software to use for specific tasks that you want to complete. Continue to develop your skills and learn more complex word processing, presentation software and spreadsheet skills. 

European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)

ECDL is the internationally recognised qualification for computer users. ECDL will improve your understanding of computers and promote the efficient use of spreadsheet, presentation and word processing software. The course will open up a variety of opportunities for you through the broad range of skills it provides. The qualification is widely recognised by employers as proof of ability and competence when working with IT.
