Libraries are closed on bank holidays.
Work to upgrade the interior of Stamford Bridge Library is being planned as part of ongoing maintenance of the building.
The work will include repainting the main and staff areas of the library and public toilet areas; and also replacing the existing flooring. In addition, there will be some redesign of library layout, to create a community space for customers.
The library will close at 7pm on Tuesday 9 January 2018 and will re-open on Thursday 1 February 2018 at 2pm.
The library will continue to provide a full selection of stock, three public access computers with internet, printing and scanning facilities, free WiFi, as well as self-service kiosk.
There will be no overdue charges for days closed.

Knit and Natter. Fortnightly. 2 - 3pm Library knitting groups offer improved health and wellbeing and a lively group of new friends for all ages and abilities. Did you know knitting has therapeutic qualities similar to meditation? Research shows it can help prevent and manage stress and pain. No need to book, just come along and join our friendly group. Adult Book Club. Second Thursday of the month. 6.30 - 8.00pm at The New Inn, Stamford Bridge. Reading can reduce stress by 68% and risk of dementia by 35%. Broaden your horizons, meet like-minded people and explore the fascinating world of literature. Suitable for all adults and ability levels, no need to book just come along.
Storytime. For pre-school children. 2.45 - 3.15pm Storytime is a fun and enjoyable introduction to books for pre-schoolers. Sharing books with young children can help to build concentration skills, listening skills and extend vocabulary to give them a head start when they begin school. No need to book, just come along.
Code Club. For children aged 9 to 11. Term time only. 10.30 - 11.30am. Code Club has teamed up with East Riding Libraries to deliver a network of free volunteer-led after school coding clubs for children aged 9-11. Run termly, children will be able to progress their Coding skills and whilst using their imaginations to make creative projects. We make use of Scratch, HTML, CSS and Python software through PC’s in Libraries across the authority.
