Times and locations for our adoptions events - a great opportunity to come and find out if adoption is right for you.
Our information events are a great way to learn more about adoption and to help you decide whether it's the right option for you. At the events there will be a short presentation to explain the process, then our adoption social workers will be on hand to answer any questions you may have, be able to tell you more about the support and training available and what the next steps are.
We hold shared events with York, North Yorkshire and Hull adoption teams and hold events regularly in either Beverley or York.
Our 2017 adoption event dates, which will be held near Beverley, are on:
Potential adopters are welcome to attend any of the events, however, East Riding representatives will not be present at York events.
If you are interested in attending an event please contact the adoption team.
Adoption staff from East Riding of Yorkshire Council are holding a series of information sessions to encourage more people to consider adopting a child.
As part of National Adoption Week (16 to 22 October), staff will be at venues in Beverley, Market Weighton and Haltemprice to talk to people who may be considering adoption, to hand out leaflets and to answer any questions they may have.
The team is particularly interested in single people and couples who are willing to consider adopting siblings and children with additional needs.
Tuesday, 17 October - Tesco store in Beverley, 9:30am - 1pm
Wednesday, 18 October - Tesco store in Market Weighton, 1 - 4:30pm
Saturday, 21 October - East Riding Leisure Haltemprice, 9:30am - 12 noon.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council and the other local authorities in the North Yorkshire and Humber area have combined to form a single regional adoption agency to benefit adopters and children waiting for adoption, called One Adoption North and Humber.
This will provide a one-stop regional adoption service, but staff will continue to deliver adoption services at a local level, ensuring continuity of care and support for children and families.
