What are the fees for a marriage ceremony?

Marriage at approved premises

  • Monday to Thursday - £340  
  • Friday - £375
  • Saturday - £430
  • Sunday /Bank Holiday - £475

Marriage at Registration Offices

The Courtney suite (Walkergate House, Beverley), The White Lodge suite 
(Bridlington), The Bartholomew suite (Goole), The Stewart suite (Pocklington) and The Baynard suite (Cottingham)

  • Monday - Thursday - £145
  • Friday - £190
  • Saturday - £260 
  • Sunday/Bank Holiday - £350 

All the above fees include one certificate, additional certificates may be purchased from the registrar on the ceremony day at a cost of £4 each. If you require additional copies in the future these will be obtainable from the registrar for a limited period at the cost of £7 each and thereafter from the Superintendent Registrar at the district register office in Beverley at a cost of £10 each. 

Please note that a £50 deposit is payable at the time of booking. This is deductable from the cost of the ceremony.

Please note: There is a £25 administration fee if the date or time of the ceremony has to be rearranged.

Fees are correct at 1 April 2018, please note that all registration and celebratory fees are subject to increase on 1 April each year.

What are the fees for a civil partnership ceremony?

Civil Partnership at approved premises

Are there cancellation fees?

Please note that there is a £25 cancellation fee if a ceremony is cancelled after the booking has been taken, at any time up to the 'Pay and Discuss' appointment or 4 weeks (28 calendar days) before the ceremony.

Cancellation after a Pay and Discuss appointment or within 28 calendar days before the ceremony will incur a £50 fee.

Cancellation within 24 hours of the ceremony will result in East Riding Registration and Celebratory Services retaining the whole ceremony fee.

What is the fee for a civil partnership formation without a ceremony?

The fee is £50 which includes one certificate.

What are the fees for a naming ceremony?

The fee for a naming ceremony will depend on the venue chosen and the day of the week.

I have two children, do I pay two naming ceremony fees?

No, it doesn’t matter how many of your children you would like to be named as part of the ceremony, you only pay one fee.

How much would it cost for our child's naming ceremony to follow on from our wedding ceremony?

There would be a 20% reduction on the total cost of the two ceremonies if one followed on after the other. You can check the prices above.

How much would it cost if my sister and I wanted a joint naming ceremony for all our children?

There would be a 20% reduction on the total cost of the two ceremonies if they were held jointly. You can check the prices on the fee list above.

Would a ceremony in my own home or private venue cost more? 

Yes there would be an additional fee of £200 for a venue assessment.

What are the fees for a group citizenship ceremony?

The fee for a group citizenship ceremony is included in the fee paid when applying 
for British citizenship and will be paid to the council by the Home Office.

Where can I pay the fees for a ceremony?

All fees can be paid at your nearest registration office who will forward this onto to the appropriate office. Please note that fees may be subject to an annual increase in September or April of each year.
