Tony Peers Productions of Scarborough will make a welcome return to the East Riding during March 2012 with a show to delight audiences of all ages and containing all the elements for a perfect afternoon’s entertainment.
Producer and compere for this year’s 'West End' meets Broadway tour is Tony Peers.
In a long career, Tony has covered most aspects of the light entertainment field as a comedian, actor, writer, director and, more latterly, a producer. He was described by the Stage Newspaper as one of the leading and funniest dames of his generation.
Tony is a regular face on T.V. and, in addition to 12 commercials, has also been seen in Coronation Street, Cracker, Emmerdale, All Creatures Great and Small, Widows, Rick Mayall Presents, Last of the Summer Wine, Heatbeat, Where the Heart is, and many many more. He has appeared in three feature films, the latest alongside Oliver Reed and the legendary American comedian Jerry Lewis in Funny Bones.
In 2010 Tony was delighted to be asked to produce and host the opening ceremony of the 6500-seater Open Air Theatre, Scarborough, in the presence of Her Majesty the Queen and Prince Philip, along with Linda Newport who is also appearing in this tour.
Away from show business, Tony enjoys racing. In 1990, he was installed as a Freeman of the City of London and in 2010 was made an Honorary Freeman of the Borough of Scarborough. Tony is looking forward to appearing once again in the East Riding tour following last years’ success.
